Bears make first dual finals, fall to Damascus

For the first time in six years, the Oakdale Bears wrestling team qualified for the state dual finals. Beating the #1 seed, Glenelg by 54-18 in the semi-finals, the Bears were once again matched against Damascus (our only loss this year) for the finals.

Damascus came away with the win, 41-22, but we are still proud of our guys and the great season they've had to-date! As Coach Swaney told the Frederick News Post, "we got to understand how this takes place. We got to understand the process that we have to go through to get here. More importantly, we know exactly where we need to be moving forward."

Next up is the FCPS Wrestling Championships hosted at Oakdale next weekend.
