Welcome to Oakdale Wrestling 5.0 - Message from Coach Swaney

Here is the plan for our first practice on Saturday:

8:30am-10am - Stations (Paperwork, Uniforms, Volunteer Sign-up)
  • It's mandatory for a parent to accompany their wrestler to first practice to turn in and review paperwork with the coaches;
  • When you arrive at the wrestling room, please enter through the door closest to the weight room. Upon entering the room, 3 stations will be set up, please flow through the stations in the order below:

Station 1 - Paperwork Turn-in

  • FCPS Participation Packet - No packet–no practice! If your son didn't play a fall sport, they will need to have had a physical and the completed form signed by the doctor needs to be included in this packet.
  • Certification Permission Form -  Please print out this form, sign and turn in on Saturday. This gives us permission to have wrestlers weight certification completed.
  • Parent/Athlete Agreement - You'll need to sign this to acknowledge team rules & regulations.
  • Email Address Vertification
Station 2 - Uniforms

  • Pick up a uniform order sheet and return by Monday, November 17th.
  • Practice Pack - consists of 2 sets of practice t-shirts and shorts. Total cost is $35. Please bring check or cash Saturday. Keep in mind we never turn an athlete away due to financial constraints. Reach out to Coach Swaney privately if needed.
  • Match Pack - consists of items on the uniform order form.
Station 3 - Volunteer Sign-Up

  • We need Bear Cave Brawl Volunteers!
  • Match meals - We need help from families to coordinate and complete match meals provided to wrestlers after each weigh in.
Parents, once you've stopped by all three stations, you're free to leave. At that point we will officially begin our first practice (hopefully no later than 10am). Laundry bags and headgear will be issued at this point as well.

The coaching staff appreciates the hard work and support our parents provide. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any additional questions or concerns.
